Japanese Ramen Simulator: Controls, Language & Cart Settings
Check confirmed controls, interface languages, controller limits and cart changes, with careful steps for launch-day input and language problems.
Confirmed controls and interface settings
The Steam listing supports first- and third-person views. Its official metadata lists Partial Controller Support, not full controller support.
| Action or setting | Confirmed behavior | Source boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Secure a placed cutting board | Aim at it and right-click to secure or release; cutting still works when secured. | Day 1 patch |
| Scroll the newly unlocked list with a controller | Use the right stick. | Day 1 patch |
| HUD size | Maximum 1.3, with increments of 0.1. | Day 1 patch |
| Camera view | First- and third-person views are supported. | Steam description; exact toggle binding not verified |
| Other interaction keys | Follow the displayed prompt or binding menu. | No complete default-key table verified |
These are the published rules in v0.1.48.17626. We do not assign familiar WASD-game shortcuts to actions unless a source confirms them.
Changing a Japanese interface to English
English is an official interface language. In the launch-day discussion, several players reported a Japanese first launch; another used a phone translation tool to find the setting. A player without the issue does not prove a universal fix.
Try this careful approach:
- Open the game’s settings using the current menu or visible prompt.
- Locate its language control. A translation tool can help identify text; the ordinary Japanese word for language is “言語,” but we have not confirmed the exact label used by this game.
- Select English if it is shown, then follow any confirmation or restart instruction on screen.
- If the control cannot be located, record the menu and game version for a support request.
The exact menu hierarchy has not been verified, so this guide does not claim a particular gear-icon position or button sequence.
Supported interface languages
Steam currently lists English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Interface support does not automatically mean dubbed audio or complete subtitles in those languages.
Once the interface is readable, continue with the first-shift guide. It explains the preparation and service sequence without assuming a hidden shortcut.
Cart handling after the launch patch
The Day 1 patch expands the cart handle’s interaction range and changes acceleration, braking and turning. Reversing follows the steering input even when some forward movement remains. The patch also says carts no longer push seated customers.
These changes are not proof that every handling problem is gone. Players still raised cart control concerns around launch.
For a practical check, try handling the cart in a clear area before a busy service. We have not verified whether the general camera toggle is available while driving the cart. Carrying items by hand is a player-reported alternative, not a measured faster route. Avoid repeatedly testing difficult turns among seated customers.
Readability and motion comfort
Increase HUD scale only as much as helps you read the prompts. Try the other supported camera perspective if turning through the kitchen is uncomfortable. These are comfort suggestions, not a medical claim or a guarantee that a setting resolves every problem.
For persistent crashes or rendering problems, use the requirements and performance checklist. The published patch addresses FSR and frame generation, but it does not supply a universal set of graphics settings.
The cutting-board and bottle rules also matter during preparation: see broth and tare handling before moving stacked bottles into an active order.
